Syndrome of combined pulmonary fibrosis and emphysema

Statements and technical standards
Aims: to identify the syndrome of combined pulmonary fibrosis and emphysema (CPFE) and recognise the main pathophysiology components. Participants will be able to identify the main clinical, radiological, functional and pathological features characteristic of CPFE and distinguish it from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. They will be able to choose the best management options based on recent evidence, and to individualise the monitoring of this condition through an improved understanding of the comorbidities and the risk of complications, especially pulmonary hypertension.
