Optimising health care for COPD across Europe

Symposium
Chairs: B.G. Cooper (Birmingham, United Kingdom), S. Hartl (Vienna, Austria)
Aims: The audience will learn about the models and inequalities of COPD care (organisational and clinical wise) in Europe and how important it is to benchmark to others to understand the need for improvement. Auditing as process to compare certain standard procedures suggested by guideline recommendations will be understood as a valuable method to gather data, reveal gaps and best practices. The audit also provides an opportunity to network with colleagues across Europe to establish a forum for the exchange of ideas about service organisation and the delivery of COPD care in hospitals.
