Aims: Assessing health status and quality-of-life is important in the clinical management of asthma and COPD and has also been frequently used in clinical trials. The purpose of this postgraduate course is to discuss the benefits and problems with different questionnaires in the management of asthma and COPD patients. The experiences of using these questionnaires in epidemiological studies and clinical trials will also be discussed.
