Breathing therapies for asthma

Symposium
Chairs: L. M. Fabbri (Modena, Italy), H. Arnardottir (Akureyri, Iceland)
Aims: By the end of the session the target audience will be able to summarise the recent evidence for effectiveness of breathing modification exercises, and will be presented with an in-depth examination of recent research on supervised physiotherapist-led breathing training programmes. It is hoped that these studies will stimulate debate on the issues and implications for service configuration, physiotherapy training and availability of treatment.
