FIRS and Global Lung Health

Aims: ERS is a member of the Forum for International Respiratory Societies (FIRS), which is seeking to increase awareness regarding lung health at a global level. Global Lung Health depends on better control of both communicable and non-communicable diseases. This symposium will highlight some of the important aspects of lung health. One presentation will describe the major threat that is imposed by childhood pneumonia and TB in large parts of the world, while the presentation on global COPD will show that poverty is a strong predictor of poor lung health. By attending this symposium, the audience will gain further insights into the concept of Global Lung Health.
Target audience: All respiratory healthcare professionals who are interested in global health.
