International Congress Amsterdam 2015

It is bleeding in the lung, but it is not a lung cancer - an interactive session

Grand round
Chairs: Jacques Cadranel (Paris, France), Venerino Poletti (Forli, Italy)
Aims: To present four cases in which the aetiology of haemoptysis is not trivial: alveolar haemorrhage, acute pulmonary infections, diseases of the pulmonary arteries, and chronic sarcoidosis. At the end of this session, participants should be able to give the best diagnostic strategy based on the clinical examination and radiological findings in these different situations. They should also be able to prescribe the appropriate tests to confirm their diagnostic hypotheses. Finally, they should be able to prescribe the first-line treatments including corticosteroids, anti-infection drugs, and to determine whether there is a need for interventional radiology.
Target audience: Pneumologists and non-pneumologists, clinicians (especially those interested in internal medicine, infectiology, imaging and emergency), juniors, and seniors who want improve their knowledge in the field.
