Target audience
This course targets trainees and clinicians involved in both
emergency and non-emergency medicine.
Educational aims
- To provide the opportunity for students to achieve the state
of the art in terms of epidemiology and natural history of PE
- To demonstrate, with practical examples, that clinical
presentation of patients may be utilised to raise suspicion
- To demonstrate the practical application of structured methods
for non invasive diagnosis of PE
- To entail the role of non invasive and invasive tools for the
diagnostic process
- To review the available results of pharmacological studies for
the treatment of PE and the current status of ongoing studies
- To define rules with which to manage patients with PE in the
medium and long term
