Educational aims
The aim of this web-based course is to update the participants on
current advances in knowledge regarding the management of
community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). At the end of this course
participants will be able to:
- evaluate the severity of the syndrome and decide the
appropriate site of cure
- understand the correct methodological approach to the
microbiologic diagnosis of pneumonia
- understand the value and the limits of current therapeutic
indications and evaluate risk factors for specific infections
and antibiotic resistance
- understand the approach to severe pneumonia, oxygen therapy
and non-invasive mechanical ventilation
