Target audience
The course is mainly intended for practising respiratory physicians
(and occupational physicians) who do not have a large experience in
occupational asthma.
Educational aims
It has been estimated that work may contribute to the origin of
asthma in about 15% of adult asthmatics. However, clinicians often
find it difficult to assess possible work-related factors in their
patients. The course will focus on the recognition, clinical
diagnosis and management of work-related airways disease.
This three-day residential course will help participants:
- to recognise occupational asthma in individual patients
- to diagnose occupational asthma and other work-related airways
disease in patients
- to improve their practical skills needed to approach patients
with possible occupational asthma
- to know the most important causes of occupational asthma
- to manage their patients with work-related airway disease
