Research in respiratory medicine – strategies for success

Target audience

This course follows a multidisciplinary approach. Among the groups benefiting from a translational approach to research are respiratory physicians, clinical researchers, nurses, thoracic surgeons, research fellows, pulmonologists, basic scientists, and trainees.

Educational aims

  • To manage basic statistics for diagnostic, observational and interventional studies as well as systematic reviews and meta-analysis.
  • How to develop a complete protocol of research, write a successful grant and deal with the submission of manuscripts.
  • How to develop a good research question and plan the correct study.
  • How to get research funding, both public and private, in Europe.
